DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The department of Mathematics established in the year 2012, with BSc Mathematics course. We provide Mathematics as core course ,Statistics and Physics as complementary course and Linear programming problem as Elective course. Currently we have seven teaching faculties in our department out of which six are post graduate in Mathematics and one in Statistics. One of our student Fahisa P M secured 5^thposition in Calicut Univerity B.Sc Mathematics Degree Examination in the academic year 2015-2016. The department provides workshop (inside and outside campus), seminars (inside campus and regional), various competitions (inside and outside campus), career guidance classes, industrial and campus visits (including out of state visits). The department arranges tours to locations around India annually for the cultural enhancement of students. The department has a proud legacy of availing placements in reputed companies both inside and outside the country.

OBJECTIVES

Develop Mathematical curiosity and use inductive and deductive reasoning when solving the problem.
Develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to pursue further studies in Mathematics.
To appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of Mathematics.

MISSION

To centre stage Mathematical knowledge in the curriculum; instill analytical and logical thinking among students and promote Mathematical thought as an important area of human thoughts.

VISION

We encourage the students to develop problem solving abilities which transcend the confines of the field of Mathematics. We share and promote the belief that Mathematics holds an important place in the history of humanity and a valuable one in the future of all human beings.
