The department of Physics was started with BSc Degree course with the establishment of college in the year 2002. The BSc degree program starts with the two complementary subjects as computer science and mathematics. The complementary subject computer science changes to chemistry in the year 2015. The department was upgraded with the introduction of MSc Physics in the year of 2005. Since then there was active participation from the department in the academic as well as the co curricular activities. The sanctioned strength of BSc and MSc programs is 48 and 12 respectively. The activities of the department extended the service to the students of mathematics department from 2012 onwards and to the students of computer science department from 2002 onwards.  Our teaching staff take special interest in the up gradation of their teaching skills by attending seminars, workshops, fieldtrips, etc.. The department provides the open course – Non conventional energy sources for the students of other departments. The department possess well equipped lab for UG and PG students.
