The Department of Psychology was established in the year 2015 with a BSc Psychology course with an intake of 25 students. Gradually by the year of 2019, the department blossomed with MSc Clinical Psychology with an intake of 10 students. Each year our students come out with excellent results in the university exams.

Aim of the department is to give students an overview of psychological science discovered about human behavior and mental processes over the past century.Students can gain understanding of psychological phenomena that occur in daily life as well as the practical application of psychological knowledge.

Different areas of psychology like History of Psychology, Research Methods , Genes, Heredity and Evolution, Physiological Basis of Behavior, Sensation and Perception , Development, Learning, Memory , Reasoning and Decision , Human Development , Social work, Therapeutic Relationship etc are covered.

Goals and Objectives:

In accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA)

Learn the basic principles of traditional psychological contest area.
Use the scientific method as an approach to critical thinking and skeptical inquiry. Accomplishing the objective involves:
Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of theory and research in the general domains of psychology.
Understanding the overarching themes, questions and conflicts in psychology.
Comparing and contrasting the major perspectives in psychology.
Understanding and evaluating basic research methods used by psychologists to address different hypotheses
Evaluating the validity of conclusions derived from psychological research.
